The CLACSO-OLA/The New School Symposium is proposed as a space where researchers and research groups from Latin America, the Caribbean, the United States and Canada can gather to share, discuss and create forms of articulations between their projects. The Symposium will have two types of activities: Working Groups (WG) and Special Panels (SP).

The WGs aim to create a space where researchers from all over the continent can meet and discuss about a set of specific subjects. The WGs are not thought for paper presentations, but to allow each researcher or research group to present their line of work, give contributions and inputs, as well as to share references of their productions and institutional partnerships. The Symposium CLACSO-OLA/The New School hopes that, through the participation in the WG, researchers and research groups from the whole continent will be able to interact and establish working arrangements and bonds of academic cooperation.

The researchers and research groups interested in participating may register in one of the thematic WG. There will be a coordinator for each WG. The participants will have 10 minutes to give a general presentation of their research project.

In the event that many members of a research team would like to participate in the same WG, the total time of presentation for all of them may not exceed 20 minutes. All WG will give the opportunity so the participants can then exchange and debate about the projects presented.

The Scientific Committee of Symposium will assign the participants registered into each WG, considering the information provided in the registration process and the number of proposals submitted.

The participants of the Symposium will receive an attendance certificate issued by CACSO and the New School University. The registration and participation in all activities of the Symposium will be free of charge. We encourage you to submit your registration only if you are sure to present at the Symposium. Certificates shall not be granted to people who did not attend the WG meetings.

Three Special Panels (SP) will be carried out during the Symposium. Each SP will count with the presence of prominent international specialists. The composition of the SPs shall be informed in the next few days.

All activities will be carried out at the New School University in New York City.

Spanish, Portuguese and English will be the official languages of the Symposium.
