Preparation for 2013-2014 PNK Fellows underway

At the Observatory on Latin America, we are preparing for the 2013-2014 President Nestor Kirchner Fellowship winners to come to New York. During the two-week working visit, the Fellows will have the opportunity to present and advance their research within the New School community. They will have the opportunity to exchange ideas with academics, practitioners and experts from The New School, other universities, and institutions based in New York City.
From November 10th to 23rd, 2013, the President Néstor Kirchner 2013-2014 Fellow Germán Alejandro Linzer will be in New York to complete his Fellowship. The two remaining 2013-2014 winners, María Villa and Fernando Kleiman, will be in New York from February 23rd to March 8th, during which they will also advance the work of their winning essays.


Germán Alejandro Linzer (Argentina) is an Economist, and holds a Masters in Science, Technology and Innovation Management. He works as an intellectual property manager at the Instituto Nacional de Tecnología Agropecuaria (INTA). His winning essay is entitled: "Notes on the conception of technology development for Argentina and Latin America."


María Villa (Colombia) has a degree in Philosophy, specializing in Children's Literature and holds a Masters in Ethic and Politics Philosophy. She serves as Coordinator of training, research and appropriation for the Gerencia de Artes Plásticas y Visuales of the Instituto Distrital de las Artes (IDARTES, Bogota). Her winning essay is entitled: "Meaningful experiences and Art mediation research laboratories."


Fernando Kleiman (Brazil) is an Economist and holds a Masters in Sociology, he specializes in Public Policy and Government Management. He serves as an Advisor to the Minister of Social Development and Action Against Hunger of Brazil. His winning essay is entitled: "Productive Inclusion: Decent work as a right and not an an obligation."
