ABOUT THE OLA
The Observatory on Latin America (OLA) fosters public debate about the processes of social reform occurring in the western hemisphere. A majority of this work is done through its ongoing programs: Latin America on the Move, Design and Development, New Urban Practices, Conflicts in the Digital Space, 2084 Imagined Futures, and the Cuba Program.
OLA’s main objectives are the following:
- To improve academic and public understanding of Latin America about the processes of political and economic change underway in the region.
- To foster a public dialogue between the United States and Latin America by creating opportunities for Latin American leaders to directly express their views to audiences in the United States.
- To develop research platforms about the implementation of urban policies and new urban practices in the region.
- To collaborate with Latin American institutions to promote the exchange of research, practices, and ideas, in line with our objectives.
