The international course “State, politics and democracy in Latin America” was promoted with the Puebla Group, the Observatory on Latin America of the New School, the Subrectoría de Extensión de la Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro and the Metropolitan University of Education and work (UMET). It was developed by the School of Latin American and Global Studies, ELAG, under the coordination of Carol Proner, Cecilia Nicolini and Pablo Gentili.
It counted with the participation of Dilma Rousseff, Ernesto Samper, Elizabeth Gómez Alcorta, José Luís Rodríguez Zapatero, Álvaro García Linera, Alicia Bárcena, Raúl Zaffaroni, Esperanza Martínez, Manuela d´Ávila, Pepe Mujica and President Alberto Fernández. During the course, Marco Enriquez-Ominami, Celso Amorim, Roberto Carles, María Eugenia Rodríguez Palop and Michael Cohen, among others participated in 3 thematic forums.
