SUMMARY:Book Launch | Mundializar la Igualdad. Política Exterior Feminista desde América Latina
DESCRIPTION:Faced with the multiplication of planetary crises\, the worsening of inequalities\, and the acceleration of what already seems like an arithmetic of disaster\, this collective book proposes feminist foreign policy (FFP) as a transformative strategy to globalize equality. FFP is presented here as an operative category and political praxis aimed at dismantling the historical tripod of oppressions—patriarchy\, colonialism\, and racism—that sustains inequalities in Latin America\, the most unequal and violent region for women. \nWith plural voices from diplomats\, academics\, and activists of the Global South\, the volume places the feminist agenda at the center of geopolitics and international relations\, articulating recognition\, redistribution\, and intersectionality. It proposes reconfiguring democracy\, strengthening the governance of common goods\, depatriarchalizing power\, and advancing toward a society of care and economic\, social\, and environmental justice. \nRegistration is required \nREGISTER\nThis is a free hybrid event in Spanish.\nRoom UL 102\, University Center\, The New School\n63 5th Ave\, New York\, NY 10003 \nAgenda \n6:30 Institutional Opening \n\nMichael Cohen\, Director\, Doctoral Program in Public and Urban Policy; Professor of International Affairs; Director\, Observatory on Latin America (OLA)\nMargarita Gutman\, Emeritus Professor and Director\, Observatory of Latin America (OLA)\n\n6:35 Introductory Remarks \n\nPablo Vommaro\, Executive Secretary of Latin American Council of Social Sciences ( (CLACSO) – Virtual\nLyric Thompson\, CEO and President of Feminist Foreign Policy Collaborative (FFPC) – Virtual\n\n6:45 Presentation of the book “Mundializar la igualdad” \n\nMarita Perceval\, Senior Fellow of Feminist Foreign Policy Collaborative (FFPC)\, President of Feministas sin Fronteras (FSF)\n\n6:50 Panel of Co-authors: \n\n6:50 Ana Güezmes\, Director of the Gender Division of the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC – UN)\n6:55 María Noel Leoni\, Executive Director of GQual\n7:00 Alejandra Mora Mora\, Executive Secretary of the Inter-American Commission of Women of the Organization of American States (CIM – OAS)\n7:05 Ana Falú\, President of the Centro de Intercambio y Servicios para el Cono Sur Argentina (CISCSA)\n7:10 Gladys Acosta Vargas\, former President of the Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW)\n\n7:15 Final Reflections and Action Proposals \n\nNora Goren\, Coordinator of Strengthening and Articulation of the Latin American Council of Social Sciences (CLACSO)\n\n7:20 Q&A – Moderation \n\nMargarita Gutman\n\n7:45 Closing Remarks and Acknowledgments \n\nMichael Cohen\n\n  \nLink to the CLACSO library to download the book:\nhttps://biblioteca-repositorio.clacso.edu.ar/bitstream/CLACSO/272993/1/Mundializar-la-igualdad.pdf \nQR code to download the book
