On May 19, the Observatory on Latin America OLA and Café de las Ciudades presented the book Inclusion and tensions in the Matanza-Riachuelo basin. Dilemmas of socio-spatial integration in Buenos Aires (in Spanish). The authors of this book participated during the online event, as well as two renowned representatives of the academic and political field of Argentina: Roberto Doberti, PHDi in Architecture, National University of Rosario and Architect, University of Buenos Aires, and Antonio Colicigno, Master in Design and Management of Social Programs, FLACSO and Specialist in Educational Dimension in Social Projects, Loyola University, USA.

About the book:

Complex problems require complex approaches. The Matanza-Riachuelo river basin is a paradigmatic case of strong social and spatial tensions and asymmetries. To understand and cope with these problems requires analysis at multiple scales and knowledges, management and public policies.

Following the interdisciplinary tradition of urban studies, the authors of this book articulate knowledge related to social dynamics, typical of the social and anthropological sciences, with that knowledge enunciated by the design disciplines dealing with urban physical space.
