University Commencement Address · María Fernanda Espinosa

The New School in New York is proud to announce that Maria Fernanda Espinosa, former President of the UN General Assembly and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Defense, and Environment of Ecuador, will be giving the University Commencement Address on the afternoon of May 16, 2025 at the Barclays Center in New York. Ms. Espinosa will also be awarded a Doctorate Honoris Causa for her dedicated global work for peace and social justice. Ms Espinosa is also currently the Executive Director of Global Women’s Voices, an NGO of women international leaders, and Chair of the Board of the Cities Alliance.
