Recent political changes in Latin America have put its young democracies under a stress test. openDemocracy, the global site on international politics and human rights has launched a section to cover Latin America’s political environment. Issues covered include political change, civil rights, protests and repression, political innovation, violence, and inequality.
Francesc Badia i Dalmases is an international affairs expert, political analyst, and author. He is founder and director of DemocraciaAbierta, the Latin American section of openDemocracy.net London. Since 2014, he has been collaborating with The Institute for Integrated Transitions and Institut Barcelona d’Estudis Internacionals. He is a frequent international affairs media commentator and recently published Orden y desorden el en siglo XXI. Gobernanza global en un mundo de ansiedades.
